PRE-CONFERENCE SESSION
Pre-conference Session: RTS-Outcome ------- 14 April 2009
The doctoral work of 8 Research-Training-Session-participants in an overview
Location: Spiegelzaal - De Markten - Oude Graanmarkt 5, 1000 Brussel - tel.: 0032-(0)2/512.34.25
General purpose of this pre-conference meeting:
To get an overview of the different currently enrolled projects (what topics?)
To get an idea of how the research is conducted (what is the underlying approach?)
In an illustrated exposé a group of Sint-Lucas PhD-students will give an overview of the currently enrolled projects, thereby focusing on recurrent themes, approaches, methods, questions and problems. Differences as well as similarities between the individual projects will be highlighted. The structuring elements of the Research Abstract of each enrolled researcher will serve as base for comparison.
· Context of Justification/Aim/Purpose
· Theoretical perspective and professional context
· Problems identified
· Methods applied
· Expected/Final results
· Potential Conclusions
· Originality & Singularity of Contribution/Profile
The aim is - through discussion and comparison of the different projects/experiences – to get grip on the characteristics and specificities of Sint-Lucas research as developed through the RTS programme and to see how this specific research culture evolves further into concrete doctoral projects in collaboration with the different partner institutes.
A panel of all present RTS-tutors is asked to comment on the overview.
Questions, remarks and critique on particular research projects and on the overview, will enable us to evaluate the RTS programme and sharpen our vision on future developments.
The overview + discussion also intends to give the public an insight into the currently evolving culture of the ‘Sint-Lucas Architectural Design Research Community’.
